Iran during Tough Times!
Photographer and traveler Chepl Amos (Amos Chapple) made these pictures during his three visits to the Islamic Republic of Iran during the period from December 2011 to January 2013. Freelancer from New Zealand said he was struck by the difference between the Western perception of the country and what he saw in reality. “I think because of the fact that the access of journalists in the country is very limited, people have formed a distorted view of what is actually Iran. Regime prefers to portray the country as a cauldron of anti-Western sentiments, so they spread the news of chanting fanatics, who are happy to pick up foreign channels. For ordinary Iranians as the government is the source of endless embarrassment and even shame. In all the time I spent in Iran, I have not seen anything other than the address of good intentions and dignity in pronounced contrast with my experience in other Middle Eastern countries. Last year I met in Kyrgyzstan U.S. Special Forces soldier, who told me, when it comes to the Middle East, America has the wrong friends and the wrong enemies “- says the author.
